Welcome to ADE, a Red Carpet AND Palmetto Silver school!

What is a Red Carpet School?
A Red Carpet School does an outstanding job of creating a family-friendly school environment and providing excellent customer service, according to the State Department of Education. Way to go!

Palmetto Silver Award
ADE was also recognized with the Palmetto Silver Award by the SC State Department for the increase of test scores on the 2008 PACT. Schools who show a marked increase are recognized with a flag, certificate and a monetary award. Congratulations, students and staff of Alice Drive Elementary!

*From the Principal

Hqappy New Year and welcome back to school!  We are very excited to return to school and hope everyone is rested and ready as well.
This time of year brings some interesting weather to our area and, as a result, we sometimes have to change the schedule.  If we have some inclement weather (snow, ice, etc.) listen to the local radio stations or the Columbia TV stations to see if changes are made to the school day.  A one hour delay means school will open one hour later than normal, 8:45 instead of 7:45.  Buses will run an hour later and no breakfast will be served in the cafeteria.  A two hour delay means school will open two hours later at 9:45.  Buses will also run two hours later and there will be no breakfast served.  Morning preschool will not meet.   If the schools are closed, then enjoy the day with your children.  If there is no announcement, school will oprerate on the normal schedule.
If you would like to view our Title I Schoolwide plan, just contact the school and we will have it available for you to view.  You can also contact Suzanne Wates at the District Office to view our school's as well as the District's plan. You can reach Mrs. Wates at 775-0857, ext. 129.  I look forward to hearing from you.
